Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using Finzy. They form a binding agreement between you and the developer of Finzy ("we", "us", "our") and govern your use of the Finzy mobile app and any related services.
By downloading, installing or using Finzy, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old — or 16 if you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom — to use Finzy. By using the app you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into these Terms.
Finzy is a personal expense tracker. It helps you record what you spend, set budgets, track recurring bills and income, and understand your spending through charts, insights and optional AI features.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Finzy on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
Finzy works fully without an account. An account is only required if you choose to turn on Cloud Backup. You sign in with your email address and a one-time code — there is no password.
You are responsible for keeping access to that email account secure, since anyone able to receive its messages could request a sign-in code. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You may not create an account with an email address you are not entitled to use, or share your account with others.
You own all data you enter into Finzy. We claim no ownership over your expenses, notes, categories or any other content you create.
By default, your data is stored only on your device. If you turn on Cloud Backup, you grant us the limited right to store, transmit and reproduce that data solely to operate the backup and sync service for you — nothing more.
Cloud Backup is provided on an "as available" basis and free of charge. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, that every change will sync, or that a restore will succeed. Syncing depends on your internet connection, your device, and third-party infrastructure we do not control.
We may set reasonable limits on storage, request volume or account activity, and may suspend or terminate a backup account that is being used abusively or unlawfully. Where practical, we will give notice before doing so.
You can pause backup, clear your cloud data, or delete your account at any time from Settings → Cloud Backup. Deleting your account permanently erases your backed-up data and cannot be undone.
Finzy includes optional AI features: AI Insights, Ask AI, voice expense entry and receipt scanning. These are powered by third-party AI services, and using them means the relevant data described in our Privacy Policy is sent for processing. You choose whether to use them; the app asks for your confirmation before spending data is first shared.
You acknowledge that:
Finzy is an informational and organisational tool. Nothing in the app — including budgets, projections, insights, AI responses and Monthly Rewind summaries — constitutes financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and none of it should be relied on as such. All calculations depend on the data you enter and may not reflect your actual financial position. Decisions you make based on the app are your own, and you should consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.
Finzy is currently free to download and use, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases. If we introduce paid features in the future, the price and terms will be disclosed clearly before you buy anything, and any purchase will be processed by the App Store or Google Play under their own terms. Nothing here obliges us to keep any feature free indefinitely.
The Finzy name, logo, design, user interface, text, graphics and software are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Except for the licence in Section 3, no rights are granted to you. Third-party components included in the app remain the property of their respective owners and are used under their own licences.
Finzy relies on services operated by third parties, including Apple, Google, Supabase, Cloudflare and the Google Gemini API. Your use of the app through those platforms is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or any act or omission on their part.
If you send us feedback, ideas or bug reports, we may use them to improve Finzy without any obligation, restriction or compensation to you. Please do not include confidential information or sensitive personal data in feedback messages.
We may add, change, suspend or discontinue the app or any feature at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept the updated Terms, stop using the app and delete it.
You may stop using Finzy at any time by deleting it from your device, and may delete your backup account from Settings → Cloud Backup. We may suspend or terminate your access to our optional server-based services if you materially breach these Terms or use them unlawfully. Sections 5, 8, 10, 15, 16, 17 and 19 survive termination.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Finzy is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, that defects will be corrected, that it will be free of harmful components, or that any calculation, insight, projection, scan or AI output will be accurate.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory consumer rights you have where you live.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, savings or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use Finzy — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to Finzy shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars (US$10).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the app, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of the rights of any third party.
If you obtained Finzy from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
These Terms are governed by the laws of your country of residence, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your place of residence.
Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us — most issues can be resolved quickly by email.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will stay in force. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Finzy.
